Volleyball Splits Matches at Cleveland State Invitational

CLEVELAND - The Duquesne volleyball team finished the 2011 CSU Invitational 2-1, finishing up the second day with a 3-0 victory over DePaul before falling to Cleveland State 3-0.

The Dukes (8-3) have one more tournament - Sept. 16-17 at Northwestern - before Atlantic 10 Conference play begins Sept. 23rd at home versus George Washington.

The Dukes made quick work of DePaul out of the Big East Conference needing only one hour and seven minutes in the 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-23) win. Sara Scheirman recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs. Foschia also recorded a double-double with 10 kills 10 digs.

The Dukes hit their second-lowers percentage of the season, .189, in their 3-0 loss to Cleveland State. Foschia had 11 kills and 13 digs for Duquesne.
