Dukes Win Regular Season Finale at Clarion, 152-148

The DU swimming team wrapped up its regular season in dramatic fashion, winning at Clarion Saturday afternoon, 152-148. The Dukes took first and second place in the meet-ending 200 free relay to secure the victory.

The Dukes won six of the 12 individual races led by freshman Meghan Smith who won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.12 and the 100 individual medley in 1:01.61 and sophomore Miriam McGeath who took the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.53 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:24.16.

The Red and Blue also swept the first three places in the 1,000 freestyle, led by senior Erin Sykes in 10:51.58 and in the 100 IM.

Winning the 200 free relay for DU were Katy Hare, Kim Schade, Amanda McClelland and Kristi Magee in 1:39.44. McClelland was also victorious in the 500 free with a time of 5:13.00.

The Dukes wrap up the 2010-11 campaign Feb. 23-26 at the Atlantic 10 Championship in Buffalo.
