Duquesne's women's soccer team improved its Atlantic 10 record to 3-1 with a 2-0 blanking of visiting Fordham Friday evening on Rooney Field. Michelle Mooren scored the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute while Meghan Long added an insurance goal in the 66th minute.

Mooren made her first collegiate goal a game-winner as she found the ball at her feet in front of the net after a corner kick and buried it for a 1-0 lead. The Dukes outshot the Rams, 5-2 in the first half.

The Dukes put the clamps on Fordham in the 66th minute as Long scored off a pass from Lauren Ott for a 2-0 lead. It was Long's third goal of the season.

Ashley Szalwinski made two saves for the Red and Blue to earn the shutout.

The Dukes return to action on Sunday, Oct. 17 as they host La Salle at 1:00 p.m. on Rooney Field.
