Duquesne University's rowing team opened its fall season at the Head of the Ohio on Oct. 9.

In the open women's eight event, Duquesne's varsity 8's placed fifth and sixth in the 17-entry event. The "A" boat finished with a time of 15:21.59, just a little over six seconds out of second place and the "B" boat finished with a time of 15:28.36.

In the open women's four race, DU's varsity 4 captured eighth place out of 24 entries with a time of 17:08.71. In addition, the Dukes' women's lightweight four took home second place, behind a strong Pitt team.
