Women's Soccer Falls at #7 West Virginia 4-0

MORGANTOWN - The Duquesne women's soccer team fell 4-0 on Thursday night at #7 West Virginia. The Dukes are now 1-3-0 on the season.

WVU got on the board in the 24th minute when Megan Mischler finished a cross from Heather Saffel over DU keeper Gabby Morrin. The Mountaineers added another goal two-and-half minutes later when Caroline Szwed found Corroto who put the ball in the right corner.

West Virginia added two more goals in the second half by Erica Henderson and Bry McCarthy.

Morrin finished the contest with six saves.

The Mountaineers held the Dukes to just five shots, one on net.

"I am very pleased with our effort," said head coach Tim Zundel. "We played some great soccer against on the of the best teams in the country."

Next up for the Dukes will be Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. The action begins at Rooney Field at 1:00 p.m.
