CHICAGO - The Duquesne volleyball team fell in three sets to #18 Michigan State in the first match of the UIC Invitational on Friday.

After dropping the first set 25-12, the Dukes and Spartans played a tight second set which featured 15 ties. Duquesne had two chances to win the set - leading 24-23, a MSU kill tied the game and up 25-24, Michigan State rattle off three straight points to take the set 27-25. The #18 ranked team won the third set 25-12, taking the match 3-0

Liz Homan led the Dukes with eight kills and Chelsea Tillotson had 18 assists. Nicole Wright recorded 11 digs.

DU falls to 7-2 on the season as they look forward to Saturday's matches against host UIC at 11:00 a.m. followed by Georgia State at 6:00 p.m.
