PHILADELPHIA - After a week of training in Orlando, Fla. during spring break, the Duquesne women's rowing team opened up their spring schedule in Philadelphia, Pa. at the 27th annual 2009 Murphy Cup. The event, held on the Schuylkill River, featured 43 schools including Atlantic 10 Conference crews from Dayton, Fordham, La Salle, Temple and Saint Joseph's.
The Dukes raced in five events, recording one fourth place finish from the Novice 8+ and four fifth place finishes from the Novice 4+, the JV 8+, the Lightweight Varsity 8+ and the Lightweight Varsity 8+.
DU travels to Morgantown, W.Va. next weekend to take on Dayton, West Virginia and George Mason.
