LORTON, Va. - The Duquesne University novice 4+ finished third at the 2009 Head of the Occoquan Regatta at Sandy Run Regional Park in Lorton , Va. DU's time of 23:22 was behind only second place Duke (22:34) and first place Georgetown (21:57).

The Dukes had a pair of boats in the collegiate 8+ finishing 13th (19:16) and 19th (20:21). Duquesne also had two boats in the collegiate 4+ crossing 17th (21:35) and 32nd (24:14). The novice 8+ was 18th overall (22:48).

This was the final event of the fall season. The spring season will begin Mar. 6 in Winter Park, Fla. with the Rollins Invitational.
