PHILADELPHIA - The Duquesne volleyball team ended its 2009 season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-22) victory over La Salle on Saturday night.

Seniors Jessica Artman and Chelsea Tillotson finished their final match Dukes with nine kills and 10 assists respectively. Katie Goss recorded 13 digs for DU who finished their season 16-14, 6-9 in Atlantic 10 play.

With the first set tied at 17-17, Tillotson set up Sarah Svorinic for the go ahead kill. La Salle would only muster two more points the rest of the way as DU took the set 25-19.

Svorinic's block broke a 6-6 tie in the second set that started a 13-5 run. They Dukes would hold the Explorers to just four more points as DU dominated the second frame 25-15.

The third set was played closed from beginning to end with neither team having more than a three-point lead. With the Explorers leading 22-20, Duquesne scored five straight points to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.

With the win, the Dukes record a season sweep of the Explorers, who finish 3-30, 0-15 A-10.
