PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's rowing team participated in the 23rd annual Head of the Ohio Regatta on Saturday.

The Open 8 had their highest-ever HOTO finish when they finished second with a time of 15:31.95. The only team to finish ahead of the Dukes was the Three Rivers Rowing Association that featured assistant coach Jenn Langzettel. The second Varsity 8 finished in ninth place with a time of 16:24.39.

The Lightweight 4 took fifth place in a extremely competitive field. DU's time of 19:45.38 was just six seconds out of second place.

Unfortunately, due to strong head winds, 23 races had to be cancelled.

The next event will be Oct. 11 when Duquesne's first Varsity 8 competes at the Head of the Genesee in Rochester, N.Y.
