PITTSBURGH - Morgan Herbert scored the game-winning goal and set up another as the Duquesne women's soccer team defeated Fordham 4-1 at Rooney Field on Friday night. With the victory, the Dukes improve to 6-11-0, 3-7-0. Brittany Findley recorded her first victory of the season, stopping five Rams shots.

Fordham had the first opportunity to score when Leah Loguidice's shot from 20 yards out hit off the crossbar nine minutes into the contest.

The teams remained scoreless until Herbert found Lauren Ott who found the back of the net from 15 yards out to give the Dukes a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute.

Herbert added to the lead in the 60th minute off a header after a scrum in front of the net. Gia Marino would give Duquesne a 3-0 lead off a rebound less than three minutes later.

Findley kept the Dukes in the game stopping Michelle Ancelj twice within a three minute span late in the second half.

Maggie Andrews, playing in only her third match this season, scored her first career goal in the 81st minute to put the Dukes up 4-0.

Fordham's Cara Rooney scored the Rams only goal with 26 seconds left in regulation.

Duquesne ends the regular season on Sunday afternoon when they host La Salle at 1:00 p.m. In addition to Findley, seniors Shaina Geisler, Annie Reid and Christine Murawski will be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
