Three Second Half Goals Lifts Temple Past Women's Soccer

AMBLER, Pa. - Temple's Niki Conn goal in the 85th minute lifted the Owls past the Duquesne women's soccer team 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. The loss is the sixth straight for the Dukes (3-9-0, 0-5-0).

DU got on the board early, as Morgan Herbert's shot from 20 yards out found the back on the net for her third goal of the season. Shaina Geisler had the assist, her first of the season.

Kristin Vinicky gave Duquesne a 2-0 advantage when her free kick from 30 yards out made its way behind TU keeper Gillian Kacsuta in the 69th minutes.

Temple immediately answered as Kate Yurkovic's header got past Dukes keeper Gabby Morrin just 63 seconds later.

The Owls' Alicia Yurkovic tied the score at 2-2 in the 81st minute when she scored on a header from close.

Conn broke the tie when she beat Morrin on the right side in with 4:53 remaining to give Temple the 3-2 victory.

The Dukes return home this weekend against Xavier - Friday, 7:30 p.m. and Dayton - Sunday, 1:00 p.m.
