KENT, OHIO - Tricia Mullen had a game-high 13 kills and Sarah Svorinic had a match-best 24 assists as the Duquesne volleyball team put an end to their three-match losing streak with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-16) victory over a winless Chicago State team (0-15). Amy Palko had a match-high 11 digs.
In the first set, the Dukes opened things up after a 9-0 run behind the serving of Katie Goss to take a 16-4 lead. CSU never get any momentum going, scoring only 11 points in the set.
The Cougars saw their first lead of the match early in the set after a Dukes service error, but their advantage was short-lived as DU scored 10 of the next 14 points. Chicago State could not rebound and dropped the second set 25-18.
After an early kill from Mullen and a CSU error which gave Duquesne a 2-1 third set lead, the Dukes lead the rest of the way to win the third set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
