Duquesne University swimmers senior Katrina Streiner (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) and sophomore Edward LeBlanc (Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe) have been named Atlantic 10 Swimming Co-Performers of the Week while freshmen Hannah Kondrotas (Barre, Mass./Gardner) and Roman Becicka (Gem Lake, Minn./Mounds View) have been named A-10 Rookies of the Week for the week ending Dec. 7. The swimmers earned the honors after turning in record-setting performances at Akron's three-day Zippy Invitational.

Streiner set a school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.48. She also placed third in the 100-yard fly (56.75) and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (51.83) while also swimming a leg of the runner-up 200-yard medley relay (1:46.21).

LeBlanc won the 100-yard (45.34) and 200-yard freestyle (1:39.93) events and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:33.08). He also swam a leg on the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:25.05).

Kondrotas set a program record in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:34.88. She added a fifth-place showing out of 37 swimmers in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:30.98.

Becicka earns his second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor after establishing a program record in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:04.04. He won the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:02.22) and placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.26) as well. He also swam a leg on the 800-yard freestyle relay that finished second overall (6:56.12).

The Red and Blue are finished competing for the semester. They will train for 10 days in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. during Christmas break, before returning to competition on Saturday, Jan. 10 when the take on Cleveland State and Xavier in Cleveland.
