Saint Peter's Results / Fordham Results
Duquesne's men's swimming team won its final two dual meets of 2008 by winning at Saint Peter's, 116-109 on Friday and 111-91 at Fordham on Saturday.
On Friday, the Dukes won eight of 11 races, including both relays. Ian Walsh led the way with a win in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.32 and in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:54.00. Dan Doyle combined for three victories, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 56.34 and helping to win both relays.
On Saturday, the Red and Blue won nine of 11 races, including both relays. Roman Becicka captured wins in both long races, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:42.06 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:41.30. Edward LeBlanc also won two races, taking the 200-yard IM in 1:55.08 and the 100-yard freestyle in 46.38. Brendan Schilling won the 50 free in 21.80 and also helped DU win both relays.
For the weekend, Walsh and Becicka each combined for five victories (three individual, two relay) while LeBlanc had four wins (two individual, two relay) and Doyle had four (one individual, three relay).
The Dukes will wrap up the fall semester Dec. 5-7 as they compete in the Akron Invitational.
