Duquesne's women's swimming team opened the 2008-09 season with a 113-92 triumph over visting A-10 foe St. Bonaventure, Saturday afternoon at Towers Pool.

The Dukes won three of the first five races before the first intermission to take a lead they would not relinquish.

Freshman Monique Lefort won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.24 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:28.18 while also helping the Dukes win the 400-yard medley relay in 3:59.40.

Senior Katrina Streiner captured first in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.73 and was on both winning relay teams. Fellow senior Christina Sherrard won the 100-yard freestyle in 54.74 and helped win the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:37.15.

The Dukes return to action on Friday, Oct. 24 as they host Buffalo at 4:00 pm at Towers Pool.
