Women's Soccer Defeated by George Washington 4-0

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's soccer team lost to Atlantic 10 rival George Washington Sunday afternoon 4-0 at Rooney Field. The Dukes fall to 5-4-3 on the season and 3-2-1 in the A-10 loop.

The Colonials got on the board in the 12th minute on a goal by Meg Pyle.

In the 36th minute, GW's Erica Wright collided with DU keeper Gabby Morrin which led to George Washington getting awarded a penalty shot. Morrin was injured on the play and was replaced by Brittany Findley. Wright found the back of the net on the penalty shot to increase the Colonials lead to 2-0.

Kristen Slack and Misa Eiritz added goals for the Colonials as they ended their three-match winless streaks against the Dukes.

Samantha Kaiser had a match-high five shots, all on goal.

Duquesne takes to the road next weekend - Oct. 17 at Xavier and Oct. 19 at Dayton. The Dukes return home the Oct. 24th to host Saint Joseph's.
