Results

Duquesne's wrestling team dropped decisions to three top-level opponents in the upper National division of the 2008 Virginia Duals. Junior Scott Black was the only Duke to manage two victories.

The Dukes opened the day with a 45-3 loss to Rider. Black scored the lone DU points in the match with an 8-2 win at 174 pounds.

The first afternoon match saw the Red and Blue drop a 37-3 decision to Drexel. Black, again was the lone DU winner with a 7-5 victory.

Duquesne wrapped up the tourney with a 35-15 loss to Ohio University. The Dukes jumped out to a 9-0 lead with a pin by freshman Kevin Chapman at 125 pounds and a 6-2 decision by sophomore Jayk Cobbs at 133 pounds, but DU dropped four matches and forteited three more before heavyweight senior Joe D'Orsie scored six team points by way of forfeit to end the day.

The Dukes return to action this Wednesday, Jan. 16 as they host Waynesburg at 7:00 pm in the A.J. Palumbo Center.
