Duquesne's women's swimming team open up 2008 with three victories as it defeated Canisius, Xavier and host Cleveland State Saturday afternoon.

Senior Melissa Johnson and junior Katrina Streiner accounted for three wins apiece as Johnson won the 200-yard frestyle in 1:54.75, the 500-yard freestyle in 5:02.12 and helped in the 200 free relay in 1:39.16 and Streiner won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.79, the 100 free in 54.72 and helped in the 200 free relay in 1:39.16.

The Dukes return to the water on Saturday, Jan. 19 as they host Xavier at 2:00 pm at Towers Pool.
