Olean, N.Y. - Duquesne University's golf team finished in second place at St. Bonaventure's 14-team Leo Keenan Invitational following Monday's final round at the Bartlett Country Club, the Bonnies' home course. The Dukes again placed four players in the top 20.
Junior Brendan Madden (Jefferson Hills, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) completed his second straight two-over par 72, which was good for sixth place in the 74-player competition. Senior Mike Edwards (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Saline) was one stroke back, in a tie for eighth. Sophomore Mike Hartman (Shaler, Pa. / Shaler) and freshman Ben Wolfe (Johnstown, Pa. / Westmont Hilltop) tied for 19th place.
The Bonnies cut 14 strokes off their opening round score to win their third straight title at this annual tournament. Rider's Tyler Brewington kept his hold on first place for the individual crown.
The Dukes return to action in two weeks in Robert Morris's Holiday Inn Pgh. Airport Colonial Golf Classic. The two-round event starts on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Montour Heights Country Club in Coraopolis, Pa.
