Olean, N.Y. - Four Dukes had top 20 opening rounds as Duquesne's men's golf team finished in second place after day one of St. Bonaventure's 19th Annual Leo Keenan Invitational at Bartlett Country Club on Sunday. The Dukes' 289 is just one stroke behind first place Rider (288) in the 14-team tournament and also ties a Duquesne one-round record.
Senior Mike Edwards paced the Red and Blue with an even-par round of 70 on the 6,308 yard course. Edwards, tied for second with Canisius's Drew Creighton, is one off Tyler Brewington's (RU) lead. Junior Brendan Madden is tied for fifth with a two-over 72, one stroke ahead of sophomore Mike Hartman. Freshman Ben Wolfe completes DU's top 20 quartet in a tie for 16th in the 74-player competition..
The second and final round of action will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 on Monday at Bartlett with the forecast for another clear day in the above-average, high 70s.
