LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Duquesne volleyball team ended the Liberty Invitational on a winning not with a 30-22, 30-14, 30-18 shutout victory over Howard this afternoon. Duquesne is now 2-0 all-time against the Bison (the last meeting was a 3-0 DU victory Sept. 9, 2005).
Dana McLaughlin had a game-high 11 kills while Kristin Garnett 22 assists was a game-best. Amy Palko led both squads with seven digs.
DU finishes the Liberty Invitational with a record of 2-1. The Dukes opened with a 3-2 victory over Evansville yesterday afternoon before falling to Liberty this morning 3-1.
The All Tournament team will be announced later this evening.
The Dukes return home beginning Friday Aug. 31 at 7:00 p.m. against North Dakota State in the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational. Duquesne will also take on UNC Greensboro and Bucknell Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.
