Assistant rowing coach Jenn Langzettel competed with the local Three Rivers Rowing Association's Masters Team at the 2007 USRowing Masters Nationals in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Aug. 9 - Aug. 12. Langzettel competed together with Duquesne rowing alumni Matt Grove, James Gordish and Katie Stutz.
Stutz and Langzettel rowed together in a Women's Open A 4+ that claimed second (3:27.38) behind Chicago (3:25.64). The duo also rowed together in the Women's Open AA 4+ and brought home gold (3:33:91) in front of Community Rowing Inc. from Boston, Mass. (3:40.11) and Capital from Washington, D.C. (3:42.65). Stutz and Langzettel also rowed together in the Women's Open AA 2x and the Women's Club A 8+ finishing fifth in both events.
Stutz took first in the Women's Club A 4+ (3:38.52) over Capital (3:41.77). and rounded out the weekend with a row in the Women's Open AA 1x. Langzettel also rowed in a Women's Club A 4x and a Women's Lightweight A 4+ finishing second in both races.
Gordish and Grove took second (3:26.22) in the Men's Club A 4+ behind Riverfront (3:21.42), as well as finishing third (3:14.7) in the Men's Club 8+ behind Saugatuck Rowing Club (3:04.29) and Riverfront (3:10.7). They also rowed together in a Men's 8+ that placed fifth.
Gordish finished his weekend with a gold in both the Men's lightweight A 4+ and the Mixed A 4+ while Grove also competed in the Men's B-2.
Overall the team's 211 points was good for seventh place out of 96 teams with only 25 rowers competing.
The Dukes begin their 2007 season Oct. 6 at the Head of the Ohio Regatta.
