Cincinnati, Ohio - Sophomore Drew Ellis's (Carnegie, PA / Carlynton) one-over par 73 led the Dukes to sixth place after the first day of the 12-team Cincinnati Spring Invitational on Monday at the Hueston Woods Golf Course in College Corner, Ohio.

Classmates Brian Sidone (Ebensburg, PA / Central Cambria) and Brendan Madden (Jefferson Hills, PA / Thomas Jefferson) finished the 7,044-yard course with scores of 75 and 76, respectively.

Detroit Mercy is atop the field led by the number one Mark Sommerfeld's round of 67, five strokes below par.

The final round of play gets underway on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
