Duquesne's wrestling team improved its record to 12-10 with a 31-15 victory over visiting Campbell Friday evening at the Palumbo Center. The Dukes captured wins in seven of the 10 matches, led by freshman Ryan Sula (174 pounds) and senior Tim Frank (197 pounds) who won by fall.
Down 3-0 after the first match, senior Brad Cipriani evened the score with a 4-2 victory at 133 pounds. The Camels regained the lead with a pin at 141 pounds, but the Dukes rattled off wins in the next six matches to take an insurmountable advantage.
Duquesne winners in that stretch included senior Brandon Baldini at 149 pounds, junior Cody Midlam at 157, senior Rob Dempsey at 165, Sula at 174, senior Jared Ricotta at 184 and Frank at 197.
The Red and Blue return to the mat tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 17 as they host Davidson and Pitt-Johnstown in a triple-dual at 10:00 am in the Dukes' regular season finale.
