Dukes Fall to Fordham in Overime, 2-1

Nov. 3, 2007

Box Score PITTSBURGH - Fordham's Michelle Ancelj put a header past Dukes keeper Gabby Morrin 2:32 into overtime to give Fordham a 2-1 upset win over the Duquesne.

The loss drops the Dukes record to 10-6-0, 7-3-0 and into a three-way tie for third place in the Atlantic 10 Conference wit 21 points.

After a scoreless first half, Shaina Geisler got DU on the board off an assist from Audra Mathews.

Just when it looked like DU was going to record their fifth consecutive shutout, Fordham's Brittany Hogan placed an Alexis Ribadeneyra rebound past Findley to tie the score at 1-1 with 3:15 left in regulation.

But Ancelj's goal in the 92nd minute ended the Dukes' winning streak at four matches.

The Dukes still have a chance at being seeded as high as second in the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship. The final match of the regular season is Sunday at noon. The 2007 seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to kickoff.
