BOSTON - Since 1965, rowers have come from around the country to the banks of the Charles River by Boston University to take part in the world's largest regatta, Head of the Charles.
More than 7,500 athletes from around the world compete in 55 different race events. The Regatta grew to a two-day event in 1997 and now attracts up to 300,000 spectators.
The Duquesne Lightweight 4+ raced in HOTC Sunday afternoon, placing 13th of 16 crews finishing crossing in 20:12.955.
The rowers will journey to Philadelphia Saturday afternoon to take part in the 38th AnnualHead of the Schuylkill. The race will be held in Fairmount Park, and will attract over 15,000 participants and spectators.
