Final Stats
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Duquesne volleyball team fell to 10-12, 2-5 after their 3-1 loss at George Washington Friday night.
The Dukes were in control of the match early on, as a Nicole Wright service ace broke a 6-6 tie and put DU ahead the rest of the game. Dana McLaughlin kill ended game one with the Dukes prevailing 30-23.
The Dukes and Colonials were deadlocked at 28-28 in game two before an attack error and a bad set gave GW the game 30-28.
The third game was close from the beginning, with George Washington having control most of the game. DU got wiathin a point of tying the game 28-27, but a Dukes attack error and a GW kill gave the Colonials a 30-27 win and a 2-1 match lead.
The Colonials jumped out a quick 5-0 lead in game four and never looked back, as they took the game 30-18 and the match 3-1.
Wright finished with 19 kills and McLaughlin and Jessica Artman had 15 and 10 kills respectively. Amy Palko's 27 digs were a game-high and Kristin Garnett had a team-high 44 assists.
The Dukes close out the road trip Sunday afternoon at Charlotte. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
