PHILADELPHIA - Samantha Kaiser scored twice and Audra Mathews had a pair of assists as Duquesne (8-5-0, 5-2-0) recorded their fifth win in six tries with a 4-0 blanking of Atlantic 10 rival Temple Friday afternoon.
Shelley Esposito got the Dukes on the board 14 minutes into the contest as she took a Mathews pass and placed the ball in the upper right corner of the net past Temple keeper Kara Williams.
Kaiser gave DU a 2-0 lead after her shot deflected off of the Owls Julia Adden past Williams at 41:35. Just 88 seconds later Kaiser took a Mathews drop pass and found the back of the net to give the Dukes a 3-0 lead.
Jenna Farneti closed out the scoring on the afternoon 1:37 later with an unassisted goal to give Duquesne a 4-0 lead and their eighth vitory of the season.
Duquesne's defense gave Temple a hard time all day, yielding only seven shots all match, all in the second half. Gabby Morrin recorded her fourth shutout of the season, as she only needed to make one save.
DU will close out their weekend in the City of Brotherly Love Sunday afternoon at Saint Joseph's. The contest will kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
