The Duquesne men's swimming team lost a close one at Denison Saturday afternoon, 105-100. The Dukes led 96-92 entering the final race but fell to the Big Red by a half second.
Four Dukes captured first place finishes on the day led by senior Scott Darwin who won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.79 and the 100-yard freestyle in 48.04.
Fellow senior Clayton Dean took first in the 200-yard IM in 2:00 .09, senior Eric Bugby won the 100 back in 51.59 and freshman Ian P. Walsh won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:00.20.
Bugby, Walsh, senior Ed Wicker and sophomore Mike Ley combined to win the 200 medley relay.
The Red and Blue return to the water on Saturday, January 27 as they host La Salle at 1:00 pm at Towers Pool in their home finale and senior day.
