Dukes Win Two at Cleveland State

Results

The Duquesne women's swimming team swept the competition Saturday afternoon, defeating A-10 foe Xavier, 143-59 and host Cleveland State, 151-48, capturing first place in nine of 11 events.

Senior Melissa Johnson accounted for three wins, taking first in the 200-yard freestyle and 500 free while helping to win the 200 free relay. Sophomore Katrina Streiner also tallied three victories, taking the 100-yard freestyle and helping to win both relays.

Juniors Kyla Favret and Lauren Stephens each helped win the 200 medley relay and captured and individual gold as well, Favret in the 100 backstroke and Stephens in the 50 free.

The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20 as they travel to Denison for a 1:00 pm meet.
