LEWISBURG, Pa. - Duquesne University's women's soccer team was shut out at Bucknell, 3-0, Saturday afternoon on BU's Varsity Soccer Field. This was the Bison's fourth straight win.
Bucknell scored two first half goals, both by Krista Lee Gentile within seven minutes of play, to give the Bison a 2-0 edge at the half. Chelsea Brinkman scored an insurance goal at 72:21 to seal the victory.
Freshman Shaina Geisler (Westfield, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) had two shots on goal to lead the Duquesne attack. Senior Ginny Bondi (Strongsville, Ohio / Strongsville) recorded two saves as Bucknell outshot the Red and Blue, 17-10. BU's Katie Dry stopped DU's five shots on goal.
The Dukes' record dropped to 1-5-1 with the loss while Bucknell is now 5-3-1 on the year.
Duquesne opens their Atlantic 10 schedule next weekend when Saint Louis (5-1-2) visits for a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday, October 1, 2006 on Rooney Field.
