Dukes Fall 3-2 to Saint Francis (Pa.)

Youngstown, Ohio - Lindsay Hess led four Dukes in double-digit kills with 15 but saw Duquesne falter 3-2 to Saint Francis (Pa.) in day one's action of the Youngstown State Classic. Jenni Gross and Amanda Haeg added 13 kills while Mandy Humphrey had 10 kills. Laura Kastein led the Red & Blue with 28 digs followed 18 from Haeg and 15 from Hess. Kristin Garnett recorded 38 assists in the loss.

Saint Francis was led by Anne Roosevelt with 26 kills and 29 digs.

Duquesne opened play taking a 30-19 victory in game one before the Red Flash fought back with a 30-26 margin in game two. SFU claimed game three with a score of 31-29, but the Dukes regrouped and took a solid 30-22 victory in game four to tie the series. The Red Flash won 15-12 in the fifth and deciding contest.

Saint Francis held a 74-63 edge in kills while the Dukes edged the lead in digs 97-96 on the day.

Duquesne will face Bowing Green at approximately 5:00 pm this afternoon.
