Dukes Cut 21 Strokes in 2nd Round at Bucknell

Lewisburg, Pa. - Duquesne University's men's golf team cut 21 points from their first round score to gain a tie for ninth place after the first two rounds of the Bucknell Invitational Friday at the college's par 70, 6,276 yard golf course.

All five Dukes lowered their scores in the day's closing round, led by senior Drew Ellis (7). Senior Derek Evans and sophomore Brendan Madden each cut five strokes for identical 72s, and are tied for 18th place in the 84-player event.

Rider leads the 15-team tournament with a two-round total of 571, 11 strokes in front of the Bucknell Blue quintet. The Broncs' Tyler Brewington holds the individual lead with a 139, one stroke in front of Lehigh's Matt Denison and Mike Magalski from St. Francis (PA).

The third and final round of the Bucknell Invitational begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
