Winter Garden, Fla. - Senor Andy Kwiatkowski led the Duquesne University's men's golf team in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship at the Orange County National Golf Club Friday. Kwiatkowski (Apalachin, NY / Owego Free Academy) shot a one-under par 71 that tied for 15th place in the 65-golfer compettion.

Freshman Drew Ellis's (Carnegie, PA / Carlynton) one-over par 73 is tied for 23rd. Duquesne's round of 312 puts the Red and Blue in 12th place.

Xavier's 277 leads Charlote and Rhode Island, which are tied at 282. Four players, Fordahm's Brian McClure, Richmond's Jordan Utley and John Peletand and Xavier's Andy Pope, are knotted at the top with four-under 68s.

Second round play begins at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 followed by the final round of the 54-hole event on Sunday.
