Dukes Moved Up In Towson Invite Final Round

Crisfield, Md. - Duquesne University's golf team cut two strokes off their first round score and moved up one slot in Sunday's final round of the 22-team Drew Upton Memorial Towson Golf Classic at the Great Hope Golf Course.

The mark of 311 on the final 18 holes enabled the Dukes to move past Temple as the squad finished 21st with a two-round score of 624. Senior Andrew Kwiatkowski paced the quintet with a mark of 154 (10-over par).

Fellow Altantic 10 Conference program, Richmond, won the event by five strokes with a score of 576. Liberty's Andrew Turner took individual honors shooting a two-round, six-under par 138. Army's Austin Luher was one stroke back.

The Red and Blue return to action next weekend in a three-day event. The Lafayette Invitational kicks off Friday, April 7, 2006 at the Center Valley Golf Course in Center Valley, Pa.
