Berthany Beach, Del. - Freshman Brian Sidone (Ebensburg, PA / Central Cambria), who competed in only three rounds of play in the fall, led Duquesne in their spring opener this weekend at the George Washington Invitational at the par-72, 6,834-yard Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course on the Delaware shore.

Sidone, who shot identical rounds of 75, finished in a tie for 22nd in the 135-competitor, 25-team event. Duquesne finished 23rd.

The Dukes return to the Delmarva Peninsula this coming weekend on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, at Towson University's Drew Upton Memorial Invitational at the Great Hope Golf Course in Westover, Md.
