Senior Amanda Haeg notched her 1,000th career kill to hitting a team-best 22 kills en route to a 3-2 win at Fordham Friday night in Atlantic 10 action. Haeg hit .327 (22-5-52) on the night and added 15 digs and three blocks. Libero Laura Kastein led the match with 32 digs and had two aces. Lindsay Hess served a match-best four aces in the win.
Fordham was led by Tasha Johnston with 25 kills and Stephanie Frost's 28 digs.
Duquesne took a 2-0 lead after winning game one 30-24 and game two 30-26 before the host Rams snagged a 30-28 edge in game three. Fordham went on to take a 30-28 victory in game four to even the match at two wins each. Duquesne took the fifth and deciding game 15-11 for the win.
Duquesne held a 65-51 edge in kills but Fordham led 89=84 in digs. The Dukes posted 11 team blocks.
The Red & Blue return to action Saturday night at 7:00 pm in an Atlantic 10 match at Rhode Island.
