Red and Blue Win in OT, 1-0

Duquesne's women's soccer team improved to 4-7-2 overall, but more importantly, 3-2-1 in the Atlantic 10 with a 1-0 double-overtime victory over visiting Temple Friday evening on Rooney Field.

After an evenly played first half, the Dukes dominated play in the second stanza as junior Faye Rasmussen set a school record for shots in a game with 11, but neither team could penetrate the net and the contest went to overtime.

After a scoreless first OT, a Duquesne play into the box was deflected into the net in the 104th minute by a Temple defender and Duquesne grabbed the victory in the extra session.

Senior net-miner Ginny Bondi stopped three Owls' shots to secure her second shutout of the season. Bondi's counterpart from Temple made nine saves as the Dukes outshot the Temple, 26-10.

The Red and Blue return to action on Sunday, Oct. 22 as they host Saint Joseph's in a 1:00 pm match,
