The Duquesne University women's swimming team made school history Friday evening by defeating visiting St. Bonaventure, 115-90 at Duquesne's Towers Pool. The win marks the first time in Duquesne's recorded history that the Dukes beat the Bonnies, the 2006 Atlantic 10 runners-up.
Duquesne won seven of the 11 races, led by senior transfer Melissa Johnson, who captured individual golds in the 200 free and 100 free as well as a team first place in the 400 free relay.
Sophomore Katrina Streiner also had a hand in three wins as she captured first in the 50 free while helping on the first place 400 free and 400 medley relays.
The Dukes return to action in one week as they host Niagara on Friday, Oct. 27 at 4:00 pm at Tosers Pool.
