Duquesne's women's soccer team improved its record to 5-1-1 with a 3-0 blanking of visiting Cleveland State Friday evening on Rooney Field.
The Dukes fired 13 first half shots without sccoring a goal before junior Martine Gilbert finally found the net with just 50 seconds remaining in the period to give the Dukes a 1-0 halftime advantage.
Just five minutes into the second frame, senior Erica Carey scored off a corner kick to give the Red and Blue a 2-0 lead before striking again on a penalty kick in the 58th minute to end the day's scoring.
The Dukes travel to St. Francis on Sunday for a 2:00 pm contest.
