Centerville, Ohio - Duquesne University's golf team finished eighth in the three-round Dayton Spring Invitational at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace which completed play on Tuesday.
Freshman Jon Pratkanis (Butler, PA / Butler) led the Dukes, finishing with the seventh best score of 227 at the 6,923 yard, par 72 course. Senior Tom Wears (Ogdensburg, NY / Ogdensburg Free Academy) moved up to 18th with a 3-cycle mark of 235.
The weather was a factor for all athletes; it was breezy and rainy with temperatures in the high 40s.
Eric Mabee led Wisconsin-Green Bay to the team title. The Phoenix total of 899 was 16 strokes in front of second place St. Bonaventure. Mabee shot a par 72 Tuesday to win the individual crown with three-round mark of even par 216.
The Dukes' next action is the three-day Atlantic 10 Championships beginning on Friday, May 6th at the Newport National Golf Club in Middletown, R.I.

Note: The final results included only 10 teams. Dayton's B-squad didn't have the requisite four golfers today as Sam Morton, who led all UD golfers Monday, was forced to withdraw from the tournament because of an exam.
