Dukes Split a Pair in Home Opener

The Duquesne University women's swimming team split a pair of contests in its home opener Friday evening, defeating Shippensburg 173-31 and bowing to Marshall, 112-92.

Freshman Katrina Streiner won two races for the Dukes, breaking her own school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.20 and narrowly missing the school mark in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.85. Fellow freshman Jennifer Price captured gold in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.26 while the DU 200-yard medley relay team also took top honors.

The Red and Blue return to the water on Friday, Nov. 4 as they host West Virginia at 6:00 pm at Towers Pool.
