St. Bonaventure, N.Y. - Duquesne University's men's swimming team dropped its first match of the 2005 season to St. Bonaventure, 163-72, Saturday afternoon at SBU's Reilly Center pool. The Dukes are now 1-1 while the Bonnies are 1-0.
Junior Scott Darwin (Springfield, VA / West Springfield) took first place in the 100 yard freestyle and sophomore Ian Walsh (Slatington, PA / Parkland) won the gold in the 200 yard backstroke.
Darwin also had two individual firsts (50 and 100 free) and was a member of DU's 200 yard first place freestyle relay team Friday in Duquesne's opener at Niagara.
The Dukes next match will be their home opener, Friday, October 28, 2005 versus Shippensburg University at 6:00 p.m. in the Towers pool.
