Duquesne's women's soccer team improved to 7-2-1 on the season and 2-1-0 in Atlantic 10 play with a 2-1 victory over Charlotte Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field.

The Dukes used their heads and took advantage of a 13-4 edge in corner kicks as both DU goals were headed in off of corners. Senior Erica Carey scored first in the 13th minute off an assist from sophomore Elizabeth Bok while sophomore Emily Sedgwick tallied the game-winner off an assist from Audra Mathews in the 74th minute. The Dukes outshot the 49ers, 17-9.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Oct. 7 as they travel to Saint Joseph's for a 7:00 pm contest.
