The Duquesne University wrestling team improved its record to 4-1 with a 24-10 triumph over Brockport in the first round of the Virginia Duals. Seven Dukes captured wins on the day, led by sophomore Brad Cipriani who won by pin. Other winners included freshman Jonathan Bittinger (125 pounds), freshman Dan Pauley (157), sophomore Rob Dempsey (165), junior Mark Himes (174), sophomore Jared Ricotta (184) and senior Marc Allemang (HWT).
The fifth-seeded Red and Blue return to the mat tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 16 as they face top-seeded and reigning Virginia Duals champion Franklin and Marshall at 2:00 pm in the semifinals of the eight-team, double-elimination tournament.
