Middletown, R.I. - Duquesne's University golf team moved up to ninth place after the second round of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Golf Championship at the Newport National Golf Club in Middletown, Rhode Island on Saturday.
Freshman Jon Merriott (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep) continues to pace the Dukes. He followed an opening round 77 with 78 Saturday and is in a tie for 23rd place (155). Junior Mike Namey (Hermitage, PA / Kennedy Christian) and sophomore Andy Kwiatkowski (Apalachin, NY / Owego Free Academy) each shot 77 today.
The three-day competition concludes on Sunday, May 1, 2004, starting at 8:00 a.m.
