The Duquesne University baseball team split a double-header with visiting Temple Friday afternoon, winning game one, 5-4 and losing the nightcap, 6-5.

In game one, Mike Grecco and Jonathan Kelly hit home runs for the Dukes while Dan Schwartzbauer had three doubles. In game two, Grecco blasted another home run for one of his two hits while Scwartzbauer and Steve Maiolo also added two hits. Scott Chisholm pitched the complete game and struck out nine. Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh, the Dukes cut the lead to one on Grecco's homer and nearly tied the game in the next at bat as Maropis drove the ball over the 410 mark in center field before Temple's center fielder reached over the fence to make the grab.

Duquesne is now 10-11, 3-2 in the Atlantic 10 while Temple is 14-9, 4-1 in league play. The third and final game of the series will be played tomorrow, Saturday, April 10 at noon on Duquesne Field.
