Second year Duquesne University men's swimming coach David Sheets announced today that Michael Ley (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and Kelly McCarthy (Avon, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) have recently signed National Letters of Intent to attend Duquesne for the 2005-06 academic year.

Ley finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at the 2004 WPIAL AAA Championship and was a state qualifier as well. He also helped set school records on the 200-yard free and 200-yard medley relay teams for a Fox Chapel team that was 11-1 last season.

McCarthy is a three-time Star Ledger All-County selection and a three-time Asbury Park Press All-Shore Conference honoree as well as a Asbury Park Press Second Team All-State Parochial choice. A 12-time YMCA All-American, his teams won three Shore Conference titles and advanced to the state finals twice.
