Dukes Topped By Temple, 3-0

Philadelphia, Pa. - Duquesne University's volleyball team was shut out by Temple Saturday afternoon, 3-0, in the Dukes' final A-10 Conference road game of the season. Game scores were 30-28, 30-26 and 30-14.

Junior Stephanie Hopkins (Tonawanda, N.Y. / Sweet Home) paced the Red and Blue with 13 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Amanda Haeg (New Prague, Minn. / New Prague) also had 13 kills. Freshman Kristin Garnett (Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln-Way East), the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, again averaged in double figures with 32 assists.

Temple's Yue Liu had 17 kills, Zhen Jia Liu had 19 digs and Alison Runk had 49 assists.

The Dukes are now 12-14 overall, 4-6 in the A-10. Temple, 11-14 overall, raised their league mark to 8-1.

Duquesne begins a four-game home stand, which will close the regular season schedule, on Friday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. against Rhode Island (8-14, 3-7 A-10).
